These Bible and life-inspired comics have been broken up into three categories: Faith, Hope, and Love.

And now these three remain: Faith, Hope, and Love. But the greatest of these is Love.

1 Corinthians 13:13

The artist describes the Cross in the comics as the symbol of Christianity. The Cross is purposely off-center in the panels to illustrate that man has not made Jesus the center of his life. By having the Cross take on various shapes and positions, it helps to illustrate the messages depicted in the thought balloon, thus the title, “Cross Words.” The second character was added to depict man, in the form of a clown, representing the many masks and costumes we hide behind.

The artist’s pen name, A. Gape, when spelled as one word (AGAPE), is the Greek word for God-love.
