About the Author

The artist behind these comics is the late William C. Weidler. The comics were published for one year in 1985 by The Messenger, a Catholic newspaper in Belleville, Illinois. After sitting on a bookshelf for over 30 years, William’s family brought these comics back to life. These illustrations are still as thought-provoking as they were when he created them.

William was married for 37 years to his wife Mary and had six children. In 1984, William was unemployed for a year and stayed focused by drawing closer to God. In addition to creating the comics, he wrote a short book titled, Choice. Through the comics and his book, William was able to express his love of God and family. William’s family wants to share these gifts from a man who was strong in character and spiritually devoted to God.
